Counselling & Support

counselling for mums melbourne

Everything shifts when you become a mother. Your identity, your body, your relationships.

Your emotional and mental wellbeing. The way you see the world.

These changes can feel really hard. Much harder then you expected.

Sometimes we need a little support through these changes and challenges to help create the motherhood experience you want.

Maybe you are feeling:

  • Overwhelmed with the demands and expectations of motherhood.

  • Emotions that feel more intense than you expected – anxiety, anger and resentment towards your children and partner, mum guilt, depression, worrying thoughts.

  • Unsupported, lonely or missing the way relationships were before motherhood.

  • Like you are not a good mother and lacking confidence in yourself as a mum.

  • Experienced birth trauma, or wishing that your birth, pregnancy or postpartum experience had been different.

  • Missing your old self. Feeling lost in motherhood.

  • Wondering why you don’t enjoy being a mum and comparing yourself to other mums.

  • Greiving a pregnancy loss and challenges in becoming pregnant.

  • Unsure whether to continue with a pregnancy.

And you want to feel more joy, fulfillment and confidence.

Understand what is underneath your feelings and have tools to support you through the hard moments and difficult emotions.

Less comparison of yourself with others, and less guilt and more compassion for yourself.

To feel more connected to yourself and others again.

To start taking better care of you, in realistic ways.

I WANT YOU TO KNOW:

There is nothing wrong with you.

You are a good mother.

Your current experience of life and motherhood can feel different.

Counselling for mums Yarra Valley

You matter.
Your experience of motherhood matters. Your needs matter.

Having support to help navigate the transition into, and throughout your motherhood journey can make a big difference in how you experience motherhood. You hold a lot as a mum, and you deserve to feel held too!

In one-to-one sessions I provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space for you to feel deeply heard, seen and validated in your experience, gain more understanding of your journey so far, and provide you with guidance and tools to navigate the challenges you are facing.

Together we explore your experience of motherhood and identify the areas you are finding challenging, give your tools to help manage the challenges, and work towards creating the life and motherhood that feels more joyful and fulling for you.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land in which I work and live, the Wurundjeri people and pay my respects to the elders past, present and future. I acknowledge all of the mothers who have birthed and mothered on this land before me.
